Peg x Pellicle Beer and Cider Party

Peg x Pellicle Beer and Cider Party

We are thrilled to be joining Hackney restaurant Peg on Sunday 21st August for an all-day-long beer and cider party. Kicking off at midday we’ll be pouring beers and ciders from a host of our favourite producers, while the kitchen at Peg will be serving tasty, summery dishes to perfectly compliment the drinks on offer. Service will continue until 9pm.

While we were absolutely gutted to learn that Peg will be closing its doors at the end of the summer, we’re honoured to be able to host this swansong of sorts, celebrating one of our favourite East London restaurants as it closes out in style. While Jonny and Matt are no longer based in London, it was here that the idea for our mag was born, so we’re excited to return and celebrate the only way we know how—with fantastic food and drink. Both will be on hand to pour drinks and chat about the mag for the duration, so please do come along and say hello. We can’t wait to see you there!

How does it work on the day?

It’s walk ups only, so there’s no need to book. Simply turn up, order yourself some food and/or drinks, and enjoy. There’s plenty of outdoor seating, an á la carte menu and loads of delicious things to drink. We’ll also have some mellow summer tunes playing courtesy of our very own Jonny Hamilton, and Stephen Marshall of Futtle Brewery.

So what’s pouring?

Loads of delicious beer and cider including (bottle pours, unless specified): 3 Fonteinen, Antidoot, Balance, Burning Sky, Cantillon, Crossover, Deya, Dour Cider, Futtle, Land and Labour, Linn Cider, Newbarns (draught), Queer Brewing (draught), Ross on Wye, Skyborry Cider, Torn Plant, Wilderness, and Wildflower.

Expect deliciously dry, sparkling naturally fermented ciders, mixed-fermentation and oak-matured beers with delectable effervescence and acidity, some co-ferment/beer/cider/wine hybrids, plus a lager and wheat beer on tap if you’d prefer. Expect everything on offer to be on the lighter sider (it's a summer party after all) and exceptionally delicious.

Our aim is to showcase some under the radar beverages from a host of independent British and Irish producers we love (plus a handful of Belgian classics, because why not). If you’re a natural wine fan we’d strongly encourage you to come down and experience for yourself what’s happening in the worlds of mixed-fermentation beer and low-intervention cider.
